Part IV – The Whole Ball of Wax

We’ve talked about no longer being an employee. As an Artrepreneur, you’ll not only wear many hats – you’ll be wearing ALL the hats in your solo enterprise:

  • creative direction
  • book-keeping
  • accounting
  • webdesign & updating
  • marketing
  • sales
  • promotions
  • public relations
  • customer service
  • customer relations management
  • networking
  • research

All. The. Hats.
Every single damn hat in the place. Wear it.

Be the Boss…

Oh, here we go.

Either you do ALL of the work in your business (and make all the art too), or you become the boss and hire people to do it for you.

If your dream is to spend your days making art – then doing the marketing isn’t in your plan. Hire someone to do it for you.

Decide what you absolutely don’t want to do and farm it out to someone who will actually do a good job. You can start with virtual assistants – they’re everywhere and fairly affordable: start with Elance.

This frees up your time to do your genius creative work that’s getting people into the door in the first place.

You don’t have to be all things.

Wear the hats you like to wear. Other people like hats too.

What parts of your business do you really like doing? What will you hire out?
