I’ve been a glossy-girl for most of my art life, but lately I’ve been attracted to the velvety matte wax finish you can get with encaustic paints.

Encaustic is a giant pain in the ass though with the heat and the ventilation and all that, so I thought I’d experiment with it’s poor country cousin, Dorland’s Wax Medium.

A great encaustic painter you might want to take a look at is Kim Bruce from Alberta, Canada.
