So Much Has Changed

The entire dashboard and Mailchimp experience and process has changed since I made these videos that the majority of them are out of date and useless. I’ve kept the more evergreen content that is still valuable for those of you who want to use Mailchimp for your email campaigns.

 
 


 
 

Video Notes

HTML for inserting your own header image into the sidebar opt-in form:

<img class=”aligncenter” src=”YOUR IMAGE LINK” width=”X” height=”X”/></a>

You can copy and paste this code into your opt-in sidebar widget, substituting your own image link.

The factor “x” in width and height is equal to whatever pixel size you need to make it look the way you want. Experiment.

 
 

I use a math ratio for scaling images to make sure they stay in proportion. I can’t believe how much I use this simple formula I learned in grade 7. (which first made me cry because I couldn’t understand it)

If you want to change an image that’s 789 x 1020 into a proportional image that will fit into your 250 px wide sidebar do this:

  • 789/1020 = x/250
  • 250 (divided by) 1020 = 0.245098039215686
  • 0.245098039215686 (times) 789 = 193.38235…. (round it to 193 is fine)
  • Your new image size is 193 x 250

Yay. Bet you didn’t expect MATH. 😛

Look for your submit button:

Insert this code substituting whatever location you want:

<input type=”hidden” name=”SIGNUP” id=”SIGNUP” value=”?LOCATION?”/>

  • Name and id are determined while using the form editor when creating your sign up form.
  • ?Location? is whatever location you want to track. You must put this code into every opt-in form you want to track – changing the location to match the location of the sign-up form.

Here’s the basic format for video merge tags:

In my case I used Youtube and XXXX refers to the video ID number.

*|YOUTUBE:[$vid=a12adiegybd]|*
