My Favourite Toys (tools)... | The Artist as Entrepreneur

…nope, they’re toys.

Oiler Boilers & Spray Bottles

I’m a water media girl (fluid acrylics and watercolour), and I’ve been experimenting with allowing the medium to paint itself through the help of pouring, spraying and encouraging the pigment to move where you want with water.

Today’s video is a short demo of how I use 2 of my favourite tools to accomplish my goals.

I did a demo experimenting with oiler boilers and spray bottles.
This time with fluid acrylics – but they behaved like watercolours.

    I ♥ water media.

Go check it out and add another tool to your kit.

Looks beautiful. Also on the first on with the plastic paper I really like the first two paint blobs that looks like a person in a profile position.

Thanks Steve – I would've loved to see how that would've turned out on the Terraskin – but it wasn't working with me for that particular video. :P

the oiler boiler – had water in it? air? oil?

Oh yeah, good point Laura – there was plain water in the oiler boiler.

Ah. I was curious because I played with watercolors years ago and LOVED it when I added blowing through a straw but I was always getting hyperventilated and I had to keep resting. #watercolorBummer I might try an air-thingy like this. You just might get me into painting again.

Yay! I love "playing" with the mediums too.

I wonder if you could use pressurised air in a can for that?

Like keyboard cleaner air cans? I have one at home and now I want to see if that works.
