I’ve had to catch birds and release them, it’s like holding air. once you’ve held a bird in your hand you realize they should never be kept as a pet. like the Beatles song says “free as a bird.”

kitties think they make a good snack though. : p

    Lezley says:

Holding a bird is totally disconcerting – I think they have hollow bones. I’m on about 8 or 9 ‘catch and release’ birds that Maui’s caught. He’s pretty good at it. I don’t know whether to be proud or pissed.

    Stephanie says:

I had a cat who once caught a bird – almost. She was sitting up on her haunches with her mouth wide open, her front paws frantically trying to shove the bird in… and the bird was just as frantically trying to get away. It was so much like a cartoon that it was almost hard to believe it was real. (The bird did escape unharmed, with a little help.)

    Sydney says:

our cats will sometimes catch birds and they get trapped flying around the basement. Jon has found if we turn off all the lights and leave a window open they will invariably ‘fly to the light’ and make an escape. Sadly, the other day I found a little one who hadn’t survived….

    Lezley says:

Doesn’t it kinda look like I’m holding the birdie like my ‘birdie’? Nice.

    Paul Quinn says:

You’re so juvenile- I love it!
