Web Research

The interwebz provides.

Doing a basic search yielded a lot of promising results.

Art-collecting.com lists a gallery guide by state. The problem comes from how update it is. I’ve successfully tested a few links myself, but I can’t verify all the info is accurate or up to date.

DMOZ (Directory Mozilla) has a similar gallery listing by state. They are also known as the Open Directory Project, so I feel very trusting of them.

They also have a Canadian regional directory. It’s a good place to start.

The OAAG (Ontario Association of Art Galleries) has a fairly bountiful directory on their site.

The ADAC (Art Dealers Association of Canada) is a list of curated Gallery Owners in Canada that meet the high standards required for membership.

ArtNet.com was the only entry I found that organized it’s links by category/style as opposed to region. However, the category options were not extensive.

This is a great place to start – choose the area you’re interested in and then research the galleries to see if they carry & support your style of work.

Ideally, you’d be able to take a road trip and check out the gallery in person too.

It’s not quick, or easy, but it’s a place to start.

Go. Start.
